Dozen Apartments Planned for 510 Washington Street

A dozen lofts have been planned for the seven-story property by the owner of 510 Washington Street. A woman-owned development company Alexandre Apartments LLC which is headed by Amy E. Judd, purchased 510 Washington Street from John Barry in early may. CBRE|Buffalo represented the seller in the $340,000 transaction.

The former Loew’s Theatre Company warehouse, which was constructed in 1920, is planned by Judd to historically preserve and redevelop it. A notable architect, Thomas Lamb, designed the warehouse.

The 19,500 sq.ft. building will be divided into approximately 12 luxury loft apartments as well as commercial space on the first floor. The historic qualities of the property will be preserved by the project while using cutting-edge clean technologies to power and service the 94-year old building, said by Judd. There will be solar panels incorporated into the design and Judd will seek LEED certification for the building.

It is the tallest building in the critical 500 Block of Main Street that has seen a wave of reuse project in the last five years including new apartments, restaurants, commercial space and even owner-occupied residences.
