The former E.M. Hager & Sons Planning Mill is currently under construction by TM Montante Development, who are converting the building into office and residential space.
C&S’s Buffalo is relocating their office to the 141 Elm Street location, doubling the size of the firm’s work space in the process. The balance of the building will be 22 loft apartments.
To power both commercial and residential tenants, a cutting-edge clean energy technology will be used as the adaptive re-use project will preserve the historic qualities of the property. TM Montante will seek LEED certification for the building. TM Montante has plans to work with sister company Montante Solar Solar to install solar panels onsite. The landmarking of the property has been handled by Preservation Studios who helped secure historic preservation tax credits.
The historic building is the former site of the E.M. Hager & Sons Planing Mill and later, The Spaghetti Warehouse. The historic building was built in 1878 and was purchased by TM Montante Development in 2012.
