Hyatt Place Project Obtains Long Awaited Approval

Construction of the 137-room Hyatt Place hotel in Synder is expected to start by mid-May 2013 according to its developer.

The work will begin within the six weeks according to the Iskalo Development Corp. Executive Vice President, David Chiazza. This will help anchor the Lord Amherst Hotel campus his company envisioned when they acquired the property 2 years ago.

UB Architecture Students Earned Their International Recognition

A 22-foot-tall, honeycomb-style tower housing bees on Buffalo’s waterfront, also known as Elevator B, brought a team of University at Buffalo architecture students to earn their international recognition.

The design was named the Jury Award winner in the Student/Design/Build Project category of the highly regarded Architizer A+ Awards which beats out competitors from around the world. This surely created a buzz!

A PUSH For Green In Western New York!

A new green building retrofit program which as was created by PUSH Buffalo, PUSH Green, Buffalo Neighborhood Stabilization Co., and Empire State Development in Erie, Chautauqua, and Niagara countries has been created for small business and non-profits.

Assemblyman Sean Ryan, R-Buffalo stated “This program will mean lower costs to small businesses and a better future for the environment, something all Western New Yorkers will benefit from. New York state should continue to fund vital programs like the PUSH Green initiative.”
