Not too hard. Sign a plain white sheet of paper with a dark black pen or a black sharpie. Put it on a flat bed scanner with another sheet of plain white paper behind it, and scan it in. Then you can crop it and resize in any graphic editing application. Saves me a lot of time.

This is a very inspiring article. I have read this months ago and this is something that everyone should read. Make the long story short, money and materials shouldnt be the priority in our lives, but our life itself.

Starting bids are based on what the outstanding liability against the property is (taxes + water, in most instances). Keep in mind that this article was written for the 2010 auction. The 2011 auction is right around the corner (October 3-5) at the Buffalo Convention Center.

"This will give you a good approximation of what the starting bid on a property will be..." I heard that the minimum bid is $2500, perhaps this is wrong. Is it actually the current taxes/water bills owed? Do you know what exactly a starting bid is based on? Thanks for all the great info!

Hi Cheryl,

These will actually be single family homes. I do have some more information, so feel free to contact me and we can discuss it.

Best

Very true. You have to look at the preponderance of evidence in cases like this. Do the tax records match the name given? Is there reverse number information available? Maybe you can give an incorrect piece of information and see if they catch it and correct you. There are lots of ways to catch a sneaky potential tenant!
